the cool kids
Dr. Chandra Sledge Mathias,
Founder, CEO, & Chief Rocka
Chandra has over twenty years of experience in education serving as a teacher, principal, director, and educational leadership consultant for schools in rural, suburban, and urban communities. Her career has allowed her to connect with schools in several countries around the world. Her passion for educational innovation, equity, impactful global connections, and teacher/leader development have all found their way into this wonderful organization. When she's not working on redesigning the educational landscape, she is catching up with friends over brunch, listening to music, traveling, working out, or hanging out with her husband, Michael and her fur child, Kravitz Lenny in their home in Chicago.
Chalis is a wife, mother, philanthropist, and administrator extraordinaire. She brings expertise in innovative solutions, project management, and community relations to our team. Her passions lie in rural community development. In her spare time, you can find her spending time with her family, or adding to her collection of mantel décor (a newfound hobby since recently purchasing an older home).
Director of Global Education
Markofski is a self-proclaimed Educational Vagabond. His six-year tenure as an educator has taken him to the shores of Brenu Beach, Ghana and the valleys of Kumamoto, Japan. Though, it all started by teaching high school students in rural North Carolina. There he shared his passion for Digital Media by building a program through locally sourced grants. Currently, Markofski has settled back into NC and is establishing roots. He now teaches Digital Media to Middle School students. However, he can’t help but use his passion and global experience to enrich his school community. He coaches an Esports Team (competitive video game playing) and founded a Japanese Culture and Language Club. Other places you can spot Markofski besides the classroom: on the field playing rugby, at any arcade that has video games, and spending time with his beautiful wife Kaye who he met while teaching in Japan.
