In this episode, Chandra chats with Nicole Miles, also known as "The Busy Birthworker" about her journey to being a doula and her quest to fight systemic oppression and dismantle inequities in the prenatal/postnatal experiences of mothers, particularly in the Black community. Nicole shares how her family and educational foundations: growing up on the South Side of Chicago, her time as a student at Young Women's Leadership Charter School and later at Smith College fashioned her into a confident, "knock down the gates" minded, leader in her field.
